Animal Caretaker Job Summary

Feed, house and handle animals. Change animal cages. Maintain sanitary animal housing conditions. Prepare and administer special diets and special water to designated animals. Maintain and sanitize assigned animal rooms, performing appropriate decontamination methods and procedures, including mixing of appropriate cleaning solutions and chemicals. Maintain required activity logs and records. Carry/pickup large food bags weighing 30-60lbs. Good communication skills/ written and verbal. Strong attention to detail in order to provide health assessment of animals.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma
• Basic understanding of biology
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word).
• The American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS certification preferred)

Full-Time Positions with variable shifts available.
